Information you give us

We only hold information you choose to send us. That usually happens in one of these places:

  • Your story, if you share it with us, including your name, email address, the story itself, and any photo or social link you attach.
  • Your email address, if you subscribe so we can stay in touch.
  • Your survey answers, which are collected without a name or email address attached.
  • Your order request, if you ask us about merchandise, including the items you want and your contact details.

How we use it

Your information is used to run IDAI and to do the things you would expect: replying to you, sending updates you asked for, publishing stories you have given us permission to publish, understanding what the community needs, and improving the resources we build.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it to anyone.

Survey responses

The survey is anonymous by default. Answers are kept without your name, email address, or anything else that identifies you, so they cannot be traced back to you.

We look at survey answers in summary form, and we share what we learn back with the community.

Your story and photographs

Stories and photos are only shown publicly when you tick the permission box while submitting them, and we may contact you first to check the wording.

Photographs you upload are stored in secure media storage with a randomised file name, and only our team can see submissions before they are published.

You can ask us to take a story or photo down at any time, and we will do it.

Merchandise orders

When you send us an order request, we use your contact details and the items you selected to confirm and fulfil it, and to talk to you about it.

Payment is arranged directly with our team rather than through this website, so we do not store card details on this site.

How long we keep things

We keep your information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose you gave it to us, or for as long as you ask us to keep it.

Story submissions you have not given permission to publish are reviewed and then removed if they will not be used.

Who we share information with

We use a small number of trusted services to host this website, store submissions, and send email. They act on our instructions and are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect someone's safety.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, or withdraw permission for a story to remain published.

Unsubscribe links are in every email we send, so you can stop updates without contacting us.

If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you also have the right to raise a concern with the privacy regulator in your country.

Children

This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

If a young person has sent us something and you are their parent or guardian, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will tell people clearly if a change affects how their information is used.

Contacting us

The easiest way to reach us is by email at info@idaivisible.com, through the How We Can Help page, or by replying to any email from us.

Tell us what you would like and we will handle it, whether that is a correction, a removal, or a question about how your information is used.
